It took a few hundred years... but gay marriage is now legal across all of the US.

As ruled by the supreme court, states can no longer directly have control over marriage rights over this issue, rather then states eventually ruling the law one by one!

It's 'sort of' in the works, states are gradually legalizing weed one by one. Getting there but a ways away.

Anything goes. I'm not from the US so this doesn't effect me directly, but I reckon it a step in the right direction.

We can, and do, juggle multiple issues at once, imagine that. Furthermore, dems and repubs do not agree on almost anything and refuse to compromise, leading to a stalemate where nothing but the bare minimum gets done. 
Example: Prison reform has been on the agenda for both sides for years, yet nothing has changed. 

Complain all you want about us not "working on real issues". Fact is we don't get shit done because the 2 dominant political parties have so many irreconcilable differences in ideologies that compromise is practically impossible.

'Real and more important issues' is subjective and opinion based, not a set out standard. Sitting on a forum and complaining that X still isn't fixed is not relevant to even bother talking about, especially when you haven't bothered to specify what X is and why it's more important than this.

Well the world ain't perfect and neither is the government's structure. You can't spot and prioritize every single important issue at once to the general public or court. It's the equivalent of saying to Marco "Why isn't every class perfectly balanced to my personal taste?". Well simply put, you can't please everyone, you can't have perfection, and 'balance' is always subjective.

More along the lines of "Marco, why are you only fixing the issues people bitch about?" - and as for the first part of your statement, your completely right - in democracy, the only things that ever really get fixxed are the things people make huge issues of. It can't be helped that drugs, gay marriage, and racism somehow get more attention than anything else. Probably part of why its so hard to actually get anything done around here. Maybe once we give the rabble what they want the other issues will actually go somewhere. Sorry if i sound angry im just annoyed that while we have all kinds of things that need to be taken care of, all anybody cares about it seems like is shit that lets them have fun. It makes me slightly sad as an american...
