Disclaimer: I'm against marriage. Of any kind.
The conspiracy analyst in me makes me think that this is just a bunch of lawyers trying really hard to tap into an untapped client base; if you have gay marriage, you will soon have gay divorce. Mo' money mo' money mo' money.
It should create some interesting situations. In Murka, a woman gets the house, the kids, and alimony (usually stealthed in under "child support"), so what happens when two women divorce? For that matter, two men? What, neither of them gets anything and the state takes everything, because the divorce industry is set up to fuck men over? /grabs popcorn
The War on Drugs (tm)? They should have surrendered DECADES ago.
