Re: D2Clicker
first drop a few differenty color (unique, set, normal, etc.) items on the ground +(alt) in town to see if it can recognize text at all.
try turning on "disable desktop composition" in the shortcut properties for D2. try running in both window mode and full screen.
try running without D2SE.

nope

doesn't help, F.A.Q. clearly says run in window mode.
- Code:
start the game (you need to run the game in windowed mode to use the text-matching feature)

doesn't help, plain clean d2 with just median xl, no maphacks/loader, straight diablo2 downloaded from battle.net
Other things I tried but didn't work:
Use different desktop resolution, use different color depth desktop, set different dpi, get color code via paint and photoshop (same as in the config). Does not work with: Desktop (Win 8 x64), laptop (windows 7 x64), htpc (win 7 x86). I am a software engineer and I am clueless now :/

Re: D2Clicker
imo it's a problem with colors... brightness/contrast/gamma/etc. since different people/hardware/software have different settings.
I'm having similar problems with my image recognition script, works for some people, doesn't work for others; my script is less refined though.

IT WORKED!
I was running windowed mode/run as administrator(duh)/compatibility mode XP/D2SE , and it was really buggy and didn't work also tested with dropping unique stuff on the ground didnt hear any beeps.
Then I disable desktop composition from the shortcut properties, and first I noticed that it recognizes uniques now (I only have notify for uniques on).
Killed a dragon and it worked like a charm... Thanks a lot this will save me a lot of time. Cheers and have some dope brownie from me

@Nomercy
If you are doing it on windowed mode - DO NOT MAXIMIZE YOUR WINDOW it gets buggy again! Just open Diablo 800x600 and do not Stretch the window. I'm using windowed D2D btw.

FFS it stopped working properly again... I'm trying to fix it, but I didn't change anything, but to die once and it stopped working ever since.

Re: D2Clicker
After 20 something restarts/relogging. I decided to change the act before starting d2clicker (cause the first time it worked I was in act 5). So I went to act 5 and it worked again... not sure if its just luck or the issue is act related.

Re: D2Clicker
Glad that I could be of help.
hmmm I'm not sure but I think I heard about that problem before, people having problems in different acts/towns. i think some towns, like act4 have different lighting, so maybe that can affect the results, dunno.
maybe d2clicker has problems with moving the window - I doubt it though. it also probably works better/worse with different graphics settings in the D2VidTest...

Re: D2Clicker
Yep. So the solution in my case. I start d2clicker when I'm on act 5, and then I Check if it recognizes uniques on the ground, if it does - I go straight to Dry Hills, cause if I go to Lut Golein the script stops working again. If you die accidentally ( like me of lag) you have to go act 5 again, push backspace to reset clicks, drop an unique on the ground to make sure the script is working properly again, assign your transmute button and go straight to Dry hills again.
I did some quality rerolling, but with no luck. Aiming for banish, 3 all, light arena amu.

Re: D2Clicker
Double post
Question : If I set "match:2askills" while rerolling amulets
1: Will the clicker look for just 2 skills or 3 skills as well?
2: Do I have to set the "match:2askill 3askill" if the 1 argument doesn't work?

Re: D2Clicker
1. it will match 2 or more (at least that's what I was told, didn't test it)
2. if ^above doesn't work, yes, but I think it works
I think 2askills would match class specific +skills as well (classes that have an "a" in their name, from 2askills), so you might want to change it to 2allskills
