not sure I understand hard points and soft points:
is a hard point actual points you put into a skill and soft points the skills you receive from items such as 2 to all skills?

I trying to do Laz and am able to hit him to slow him but my question is should I wait till he pounces and summons before I try to purify him? I have yet to hit him with a purify before I get mobbed by his summons and unable to escape due to being surrounded by the mob. my char has 200+ frw ,175 fbr, 200 fhr, 50 slow target , and I realize I have overkill on Ias at 253 but my weapon I use is the dirk with 40 slow target and 100 ias on it. I also have 50 dr % and 438 dr points.

you are correct, hard points are the ones you actually put into the skill while soft points are the amount you have after +class skills and +all skills are taken into account

@betty you want to hit/purify him as soon as he teleports on top of you. you have to have perfect timing. Trying to learn it on realm is a bit difficult due to latency, so i suggest practicing on sp first to get your timing down, then adjusting for lag and latency. Like with ureh, there are lots of things to get caught on resulting in your perceived position being different from your actual position.

Last question(s), any specific MO (aside from hitting AS/FHR breakpoints) I should focus on or socket choices that are better than others?

Laek (life after each kill) and LL (life leach)
ed (enchanced damage and defense)
tcd (total character defense)

Can you roll an amulet with +5 to all skills by getting +3 off your oil of renewal, and getting a lucky +2 on the blessed oil of luck? (I'm wondering because every build I see talks about +4 to all skills amulets)

Yes you can. Probably old guides when Blessed Oil of Luck didn't exist.

Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure if it was capped at +4 like the 350% ED on weapons pre-runes

+4 is max (+3 from roll and +1 from bless) so i have no idea where u get that +5.

blessed oil of luck (terror box + oil of luck) can grant 1/2 skills. 3 from rare ammy roll + 2 from blessed oil = 5.
